On April 21st, 2019, we conducted final training of Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) 2019 for 13 students, who were chosen from Japan Science and Engineering Challenge (JSEC) 2018 at Tokyo Head Office of The Asahi Shimbun Company.

In this final training, finalists practiced 15 minutes English only presentation, which is the same style as Intel ISEF, for six times. This training used actual poster which finalists made for Intel ISEF, which is the biggest difference from the training with minimum figures in March.

In this training, some judges from JSEC and NSS staffs are in the role of ISEF judge. Finalists questioned about their research in English, however, they gave a clear answer for each of those questions.

As finalists getting closer to the Intel ISEF, they focused on not only their presentation practice but also rechecked the poster presence. We could feel their motivation to make an understandable presentation to tell all the content of their research.

At the end of the training, judges from JSEC and NSS told some advice to finalists. We hope this training was productive for finalists and do everything they can do in the next three weeks until the Intel ISEF to enjoy the greatest, largest, and one of the most traditional science competition.
